Gould Academy's Strong Commitment to Diversity Amidst Affirmative Action Concerns

Gould Academy wishes to express our concern regarding the recent Supreme Court decision to end affirmative action in college admissions. While this ruling does not directly impact our own admissions policies, it reflects a concerning trend that challenges access to higher education for marginalized communities. Here at Gould, we firmly believe that building a diverse community is crucial for a respectful and inclusive community where we can thrive as individuals and grow to our greatest collective potential.
Gould remains committed to enrolling students from diverse backgrounds. A diverse community not only enriches the educational experience for all students but also fosters a broader understanding and appreciation for different perspectives. It prepares our students to navigate an interconnected and globalized world with kindness, curiosity, courage, and respect.
In light of the Supreme Court’s decision, our College Counseling department recognizes the need to navigate this new landscape to support our students of color in new ways. We understand the unique challenges students of color may face in the college admissions process and are dedicated to supporting their journey.
Gould remains committed to creating an inclusive, equitable, and safe environment for all students. We will continue to provide a transformative educational experience that prepares our students for a future where diversity is both celebrated and valued.
