That when we focus solely on what college they'll attend, what major they'll choose, or what career they’ll pursue, we’re reinforcing the notion that life only offers a finite number of paths to take? It’s as if high-speed access to information has made the essential process of personal growth and introspection seem obsolete. Yet, this process will always demand something deeper. Or perhaps, some deeper place.

Deep in the mountains of Maine, Gould Academy is preparing students for the world by showing them a different side of it. One where nature surrounds you, yet community envelops you. Where you’re not defined by a sport, a role, a club or a class—but by your willingness to explore all of it. Here, we push our students to ask the bigger questions: What drives you? What kind of person do you want to be? What values will guide your life? 

Because to pursue those answers—and everything in between—is to arrive at something far more profound than just a diploma.
