Visit Gould

A warm welcome awaits you

Visiting campus and meeting current students, faculty, coaches, and staff often makes the decision to join Gould clear. Students from across the United States and around the world share a common belief: choosing Gould has been one of their best decisions. Gould prepares students not only to earn a diploma but also for life.

In-Person Open House Events

Open Houses give students and their families the best possible introduction to Gould Academy's beautiful campus. These events offer an inside look at the school's unique learning programs, wide range of academic classes, special extracurricular activities, and lively community. Visitors can meet Gould’s caring teachers and coaches, talk with current students, and see what makes the community special and how a Gould education stands out.

The day begins with refreshments and a welcome from the Admissions team, followed by a student-led campus tour and small group breakout session. Lunch with students and faculty is included, and the event concludes at 1:15 p.m., with optional interviews and coach meetings available afterward.

Upcoming Open House: April 18, 2025

Be a Husky for Day!

List of 3 items.

  • Schedule a personalized visit

If you can't make it to an event, you can still schedule a personalized visit by emailing or calling the Admissions Office at 207-824-7777. We'll take a few minutes to learn about your interests so we can plan a visit tailored just for you. A “Husky for a Day Visit” typically lasts 3-4 hours, depending on what you would like to experience during your time on campus.
  • When to visit

Student-led tours of campus are available year-round and are highly encouraged. Visits are most rewarding when school is in session, offering opportunities to meet students, faculty, coaches, and staff. If a full "Husky for a Day Visit" isn’t possible, Gould can arrange a tour along with a family meeting or interview.
  • What to expect

    Arrival
The Admissions Office is in the Carolyn Wight house at 27 Church Street, Bethel, Maine 04217. This is where visitors check in and meet the Admissions team.

    Meet with coaches & teachers
Depending on a student’s academic, athletic, or extracurricular interests, a teacher or coach will meet with them in the Admissions building, or visitors may go to a class or watch a practice.  Experiencing a Gould class firsthand helps students  picture what life would be like as a Husky.
Be sure to ask about an on-snow visit during the winter!

    Parent/Guardian interview
The parent interview provides an excellent opportunity for parents or guardians and the admissions team to discuss expectations for the prospective student.

    Student interview
The student interview is a key part of Gould's application process. Gould is committed to getting to know each applicant as an individual, just as they do with current students. This personalized approach helps Gould understand each student’s unique qualities and potential.

    Tour
A student tour guide will lead you and your family around campus, highlighting all that Gould has to offer. These student-led tours provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with current students and hear firsthand about life at Gould.

Other Opportunities to Visit

Gould encourages families to connect in multiple ways throughout the admission process. Prospective families are welcome to visit during Open Houses, attend sporting events, performing arts showcases, and receptions, or join Revisit Days after acceptance.

Gould's Admissions team travels across the United States and around the world. Interview appointments off-campus are available, but cannot fully replace the on-campus experience.
