New Roles: Fuzzy Thurston and Denise Manning

Denise Manning, Dean of Students, will spend the remainder of this school year serving both her current role and also moving on to a role in the Development Office.

As an Alumni Engagement Officer, she will connect with current and past families to raise funds that will help the school transform the people, projects, and experiences that make a direct impact on the students and teachers here at Gould.
Head of School, Tao Smith joins Denise in a commitment to making the transition as smooth as possible for our current families and those who work with Denise. We have already begun a search to find a qualified person to move into her vacated role and have received interest from several people both within and outside our current staff.

We’re also pleased to welcome David "Fuzzy" Thurston '67 P'94 P'09 back to Gould. He starts this week in the role of an Alumni Engagement Officer alongside Denise Manning and Kathleen Willis.

Fuzzy is well known to Gould, not just because he attended or because two of his children attended - his grandfather, Paul, was a long-time Trustee and Chairman of the Board, and his father, Mike, also was on the board for several years and headed the Search Committee who hired Bill Clough, who subsequently hired Tao Smith to work at Gould after college.
