Not sure about when to start? Things move quickly at the beginning of each new year. Get ahead of the rush by attending one of our Open House events, or schedule your own tour and interview, review our Application Timeline for a list of important dates, and then follow the five steps below.

Step 1 – Contact the Admissions Office

Contacting the Admissions Office will allow us to create a file for you. This file will be updated as the different parts of your application are submitted. We can be reached by phone at 207-824-7777 or by e-mail at

Step 2 – Schedule an interview and/or tour

Visiting campus is a great opportunity to meet with current students, faculty, and interview with an Admissions Officer. International students unable to make it to campus may interview via Skype or by phone. Call our office at 207-824-7777 or email to schedule your interview and/or tour today.

Step 3 – Application and Recommendations

The Gould Admissions office encourages all candidates to apply online. Applying online makes it easier for you, and your teachers, to submit materials as well as to track what documents have been received by Gould.

Please note that email addresses for your teachers/administrators will need to be provided to SAO, and Gateway, for the recommendations, school report, and transcript form.  If you need to submit additional materials, including educational testing, please email these materials directly to If you have any technical issues with either online application, please let us know. In the end, we want to make sure that applying to Gould is as easy as possible.

For applicants applying for the 2018-2019 academic year, the TABS application is the only paper application the Gould Admissions office will accept. You can download the application or email to request a copy.

To be considered in the first round of admission, students must complete the application by February 15th.

Step 4 – Transcript

Prospective students must submit an updated transcript from the applicant’s current school along with any additional school records or academic testing available.

Step 5 – Testing

Gould requires all applicants to submit some form of standardized testing. For domestic students we accept SSAT, PSATSAT, or ACT depending on the applicant’s grade level. For international students we require a standardized English proficiency test.

Application Fee

An application fee of $50 for domestic students and $100 for international students is required.
