Description

March 22-24 at Sunday River

This elite level camp is designed for those expecting to be invited to the USASA National Championships. Three riding groups (Alpine, Freestyle, Boardercross) will train on Sunday River’s spectacular terrain with Gould Academy’s world-class coaches and select invited guest coaches from successful programs up and down the east coast. Riders will leave this camp with clear training plans for success at USASA Nationals. These plans can easily be shared with home coaches as well.

ALPINE

Train riding fundamentals, BX, GS and SL on hard or soft gear. We’ll use our state of the art Alpine Tree start gates to practice start technique, train with SPM stubbies and use on-hill video feedback for maximum progression. Camp will climax with a dress rehearsal GS and SL with timing on Sunday, March 18 (all riders together, no age groups).

FREESTYLE

Train riding fundamentals, jumps, rails and run planning on Sunday River’s parks. T72 is our big park with 20, 30, 40 jumps, all with big and little takeoffs. T72’s rail garden has fun features and should mimic any rail setups we’ll see at USASA Nationals. 3D is our medium park, and will only be available Friday, March 16. Whoville is our progression park, perfect for learning new tricks. Weather permitting, we will use Gould Academy’s on-campus airbag jump as well. We will use on-hill video feedback for maximum progression.

BOARDERCROSS

Train BX fundamentals, starts, gliding, turning and transition riding. Daily start training will be offered using our Settele World Cup start gate (the same as at Nationals) as well as GS training for turning skills. Tuck and glide training will help riders dial in speed which we’ll confirm with our radar gun. Full laps on our BX course, Flowstate, will help riders work on banked turns, feature riding, and passing. We will use on-hill video feedback for maximum progression. Camp will climax with a dress rehearsal race on Sunday, March 18 including time trials and heats (all riders together, no age groups).
