Xi’an: Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Statues
(Written by Mr. Shifrin)
We enjoyed several hours at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
The students embraced the opportunity to pose with a variety of statues. The monk is responsible for the construction of the pagoda which houses the bones of the finger of a buddha at that time.
We spent time exploring the park around the pagoda and statue. It was fun to watch the kites, see the fountains, and enjoy the smell of the fresh blossoms as we watched local merchants pedal their wears.
When it was time for lunch, Wyman tried to explain how to get there. This was enjoyed by all. It is great to see our group connect with each other and embrace the time together. Everyone feels welcome and part of the group. This was evident at lunch when they moved tables in the restaurant to make room for everyone including our guides for XFLS.
It has been a wonderful day and great experience!
