World Cup @ Sundayriver

February 26, 2009

So the FIS Snowboard World Cup rolled into town, with one of the most intense boarder-cross courses I have ever seen. This coming weekend (Friday and Saturday) you will be able to witness the best in the World battle for the title World Cup champion.
This is the equivalent title that Bode Miller races for in skiing. We do have some locals (Sunday River and Maine) who are major contenders for a win in Mens SBX, and also the Parrallel Slalom.

Seth Wescott from Sugarloaf, Olympic Gold Medalist. Currently 2nd in the World. Jonathan Cheevers, currently 4th, is an old friend of GACP, who used to compete in the USASA Maine Mtn Series with riders from Gould.
Also in the PS, Dustin Sysko originally from Newry Maine, will be hitting the gates.

Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the World Cup, but below are two pics from my travels this season. A heart on a Whopper burger from Burger King in Frisco, and before you ask, no I didn’t sell it on Ebay, “I was hungry”And a sign I’d never seen before, that gave my a chuckle…….!!
All the Best
Until next week,
Chris D
