The tournament’s deep field of 109 boys and 35 girls included some of the best amateur golfers in the country and from around the world including Aruba, Thailand, and Canada.
Will, who just finished his sophomore year, finished one stroke behind Brian Carlson of Madison, CT, the highest ranked player in the field at No. 82 in the Polo Golf Rankings. Carlson has four top-10 finishes with the AJGA and will go on to play golf for Purdue University.
Will’s top-10 finish at his first AJGA tournament comes on the heels of his third place finish earlier in July at the World Series of Junior Golf tournament at the the Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, RI.
The AJGA is dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf and has helped pros early in their careers such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Grace Park.
According to Woods via the AJGA website, “The quality of competition the AJGA offers is the best in the world.”
