wait, what? did you say parent’s weekend?

October 8, 2011

Well Gould Academy, you made it to your first break. Congrats! It’s been a very long first month but we’re finally here. Parent’s weekend and the long weekend that follows. In the week before parent’s weekend, it’s always easy to tell which kids are new, and which kids are veterans at the Academy. New kids are usually the ones looking forward to this weekend. Boarding school is a new concept for them and being away from home is hard at first. Those who have a few years under their belts are the ones just looking forward to the break that follows the dreaded visits of their parents. Many of these returning students look forward to leaving their parents for the (semi) freedom they get at Gould. Being the sister of someone that has already graduated AND a day student, I get out of most of the festivities. My parents have been through 4 years at the Academy already, so they figure they’ve seen enough.

SO. My advice to those dreading this weekend. Take a deep breath. It’s just a little while, AND you get a break on the other end. Just keep looking forward, it’s almost over. While you do that, I will enjoy just a normal break. :D.

That’s all for today, see ya next week.

p.s. mr. alford, i’m totally finishing this in your class.

In the spirit of parent's weekend, here's me and my mom.
