USSA & USASA @ Sunday River!

February 17, 2016

America, USA!  The acronyms can be a mouthful, but at the end of the day we’re talking about a couple of fun Slope Events hosted at our home Mountain, Sunday River.

Sam Rail

Believe it or not, you don’t even have to be a US citizen to enjoy the fun. In fact, Sam Moore has won two of these USASA events this season!

And if those two acronyms aren’t enough, our USSA event was sanctioned by the AFP as a Bronze level event.  AFP stands for the Association of Freeskiing Professionals and beyond it’s label that means this event had a sweet prize purse, so all the big dogs around make sure to show up and throw down.

Hosting these events at Sunday River is always great and the mountain really goes out of their way to make sure that the events run without a hitch.  It also offers some of the athlete’s parents a chance to watch their kids throw down!  Above you can see Mama Menezes watching young Geo getting fancy on the last jump.

A lot of action that went down over the course of these two events and you can check out some photos from Facebook here: USSA @ SR

You can also find a few videos of entire runs from the USASA event below!
