Up and running in Xi’an

February 24, 2011

After a brief internet hiatus, we are back in action.

Upon arrival to the school after a late flight two nights ago, we were met by the host families where our tired travelers were promptly whisked away by very excited families.

Bouji was greeted with a nice bouquet of flowers.

Yesterday morning we were welcomed by the Xi’an Foreign Language School complete with name on the marquee! We were introduced to the entire upper school of approximately 1300 students, and after I made brief remarks it was the students turn to introduce themselves.

Sawyer says hello. After spending time in classrooms, our group and the host students had a great opportunity to get to know each other better.

After lots of laughter, some singing, juggling and Max doing the worm, we made our way to the courtyard where there was more conversation and photo opportunities.

At 5:30pm it was time to head home with the host families.

Yesterday was a lot of fun and it is safe to say we’ve already made some great friends.

Today, we go to see the much anticipated Terracotta Warriors.

More to come…

It is great to see the kids in Xian! Looks like they had a wonderful welcome at the school. Got a peek of Caili. Must have been a great adventure to see the Terra Cotta Warriors today.

Terra Cotta Warriors is very nice place to visit. There you will see warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians.

Does anyone know the address of this school? I recently visited them on a school trip a couple of weeks ago and would like to send them a postcard or something but I can’t seem to find any info on the school.. 🙁
