Three Things Every Gould Student Should Do.

September 9, 2011

The Gould campus is an eerily beautiful place in the summer months.

Take a walk to the barn, or to the lower fields, and you feel like you have the place to yourself. As calm and surreal as it is, something doesn’t seem quite right when it’s just you and the chickens. Gould isn’t as special without its inhabitants, the students and faculty.

Saturday, new students, proctors, and faculty returned from orientation trips in the Maine and New Hampshire woods, while returning students reunited with old friends and had the opportunity to make new ones.

Just like that, the magic was restored, and Gould Academy is buzzing with life.

Earlier in the week, Dean of Community Life Lorenzo Baker addressed the new students with three key pieces of advice:

  • Get to know every student here by name;
  • Get to know your teachers. They’ll help you with more than homework;
  • and try everything.

Welcome back. It’s going to be a great year.
