The Maker blogs on drones and the culture of innovation
With the opening of the new IDEAS Center Gould is reaching out to both our students and to the larger global community to better understand innovation and its impact and influence in society.
The IDEAS Center represents something larger than ourselves, whether it be a student learning a new skill to help make a gift plaque for the 9th grade Four Point exchange or putting students in touch with some of the people who effect how our country works. These opportunities are simple and amazing.
We recently had the opportunity to put two students who have a passion for flying in front of a FAA Safety Team Program Manager. They had the opportunity to impact how the FAA views small RC vehicles.
That is what we try to do, provide a opportunity to pursue passions and opportunities that exist outside a classroom and without a grade. Life quickly stops being about grades in a few years for students, and we want to help them develop that drive to learn and become great at things which are important to them.
