The Last Glog Post – Before next year.
Good evening everybody!
Ahh…The sweet feeling of waking up at noon, and not being late for assembly!
Yes, it did so occur that the Gould Academy Class of 2012 graduated yesterday, and I wish them the best of luck in the variety of places they’ll be exploring and all of their endeavors- college or otherwise.
For me, I have quite the summer planned out, as many of you may know.
Since I have bought *most* of my gear in the past two weeks from True North Adventureware (Sound Familiar? It’s Run by Abbie Goldberg ’12 ‘s father, and many of you either bought or helped buy gear from there for Junior Four Point.). Mr. Goldberg has really helped me get the ball rolling, and was kind enough to order heaps of gear through his outfitting store for my experience. If you need outdoor gear, serious expertise, and the best customer service around, stop by and visit his store. (need directions? Visit http://lilbuddy.megalink.net/~truenorth/). In case you were wondering, this is absolutely not an advertisement gig, I’m just blown away with how hard he worked to get my gear here, and get me hike-ready!
So, now all it takes is for my mother (Kristen Drew, she teaches Biology and Algebra 2) to get out of Faculty meetings, and we’ll head down south (kinda) to Old Forge, New York. We’ll stay with my grandparents for a night, before booking it off to the High Peaks region to spend our first week in the woods. Anyways, if you want to keep up with our Adventures, I’ve started a blog at (http://johndrewsenior4pt.blogspot.com/). I’ll be posting before every trip, outlining where I’m planning on going, and after with a list of the peaks we visited, what we did in between and will definitely include tons of pictures! In case you couldn’t tell, I’m REALLY EXCITED!
On Tuesday, I’m headed to Sunday River Whitecap (not the ski hill) with my friend Avery Rossow, ’13 to test out the gear that I’ve bought. There should be a blog post for that as well,so we’ll see!
Anyways, I can’t believe that so many of my friends are headed off to college, or to do other things. The past couple of years, I’ve had a couple of friends graduate, but this year many of my good friends will be headed off. I’m incredibly happy for them, and definitely hope that they’ll visit often!
Well, that’s about it for this year! I’ll be blogging again (as a SENIOR?!?!) in the fall!
But in the meantime, do what you like, and like what you do!
