Thanks Giving to a Brit…
So what does Thanks Giving look like to a pair of Brits……?
Well it’s been a little bit of a journey for us. Our first Thanks Giving, we thought it would be fun to go shopping the day after……!!! We thought everyone would stay at home with their families….!!! WRONG
Our second Thanks Giving, we were treated with marshmallow and sweet potatoes, in the same dish…..!!!! WRONG
Then there is the Macy’s parade….! WOW
By the third one we had got into the swing of it a little bit, and we were able to compare it to Christmas Day back in England.
So a couple of years go by, and we are now a little more settled in Bethel, with lots of great friends.
Now comes the family part…. Thanks Giving is a family time, but we don’t have any here…. But that doesn’t matter to New Englanders. The warmth we have received and our “adopted” status is truly something to be thankful for.
We will be eating Thanks Giving with the Schroy family, and some other good friends. Something we have done for 4 out of the last 6 years.
Even alums have been supporting the cause.
And for all of you guys wandering about the beards that none of you guessed correctly, it was Alford, Penely, Davies and Fisher.
