(Written by Mrs. Lambert)
The Tanzania group may be thousands of miles away, but the use of Delorme’s inReach Satellite Communicator by Mr. Hayward has kept this group in close contact with Gould’s Communications Office thanks to daily satellite messages via email. Although the messages below were received without accompanying images, they still paint a very vivid picture of the natural beauty which surrounds them. I am told pictures tomorrow if Internet is available.
Until then… Mr. Hayward writes:
Message 1: Safari Day! Ngorogoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge & Serengeti. Close viewing of elephants, hippos, giraffes, lion and more.
Message 2: We are with our Tumaini hosts and taught them how to set up tents. Camping out in the Serengeti is pretty incredible.
Message 3: We can hear hyena and lion in the distance as we go to sleep. It was an incredible day and all is well.
Here’s a look at the map that comes in with each message from Mr. Hayward, showing the group’s location.
