Sunday, May 17 Performance – Local & Legendary: Maine in the Civil War

This Sunday night concludes the Bethel Historical Society’s yearlong Civil War project sponsored by the Maine Humanities Council and Maine Historical Society, with funding provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Featured will be The Androscoggin Chorale Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. John Corrie of Bates College, singing songs of the Civil War, and “My Dear Absent Husband,” a dramatically staged presentation of the Civil War letters of Private Stephen Richards and his wife Lydia, of Upton, Maine.

This event is free and open to the public and takes place this Sunday, May 17 in Bingham Hall Auditorium at 4 p.m.
