Somali movie, “Rain in a Dry Land” tonight in Trustees Auditorium
Mr. Leff is showing the movie, “Rain in a Dry Land,” tonight in Trustees Auditorium. This film follows the lives of two Somali families over two years from leave a refugee camp in Nigeria to settling in Lewiston, Maine. Lewiston has a large population of Somali refugees. This movie does an excellent job of presenting the challenges, blessing, and new experiences these families and the greater Lewiston community must manage.
Mr. Leff will also be hosting a speaker, a community advocate, from Lewiston tomorrow as well. These events are a great compliment to the ninth grade curriculum and the sophomore four point community service day that works with the Somali population.
