Skating the new Portland, Maine Skatepark
I skated the new Portland, Maine skateapark yesterday. The concrete is perfect. All the flat areas were poured in colored concrete. It was cold and crowded. I came face to face with both bikes and other skaters regularly, but it was totally cool. It’s the type of park where you need to just fly around.
The faster you go, the less there is to worry about. There was one local ripping up the little six foot bowl. The better street skaters were utilizing every ledge, edge, and rise.
See Concrete Disciples for the complete description of the park.
I hope we can include this park in the Maine SK8 Series next spring. This place is lots of fun.
