Searching for Snow

December 11, 2013

The past three weeks the nordic team has been chasing the snow. We have enjoyed saved snow in Canada, alpine trails at Sunday River, the snowmaking loop at Craftsbury, and my favorite, natural snow on secret logging roads near Bethel.  When I first started Coaching at Gould Dick Taylor took me on a drive looking for snow. We drove all over random logging roads that he had used over the years. Each fall I look forward to the ritual.   We have used many special places and varying techniques to get equipment to the trails and provide skiing for the kids. A  blog post dedicated to the art of mobile grooming is to come.   This morning loading up the trailer at 5:00am I thought about how smooth it went.  It has taken 10 years though I think I am honing in on the perfect combo of equipment for mobile grooming.

Some pictures from todays skiing!
