Quanzhou Update

March 20, 2016

(From Ms. Wilkerson)

Our students spent the weekend with their host families. We’ll see them all in a few hours, Monday morning.

We have heard from some of our students, and most were together on Saturday afternoon without us, shopping and playing basketball.

Colin Penley and I are being hosted by a variety of English teachers. Since we did’t see most of our students over the weekend, I’ll share a few photos of what we did and saw.

We did have a nice surprise when we found that Eddie, Annie, and Eli were heading to the same island we were on Sunday. We shared two fabulous meals with their host families and two English teachers. Despite the rain, it was a great day.

Tomorrow we are back together with our students. I look forward to hearing about their weekend, and we will report back on the blog.

We visited one of the most prestigous universities in the province. The university is like a town and has a beautiful campus.

Mr. Young, an English teacher who visited Gould last year, was one of our hosts on Saturday. The hosts have been very kind and generous.

This is a photo of part of the financial district of Quanzhou. It seemed important to our hosts that we took a photo.
