Post Parents Weekend- It’s easy to get back into it!
Everyone seems to be getting back into the swing of things here at the Academy. Parents Weekend almost feels like weeks ago. We had classes yesterday and a performance last night. We have classes again today and then each class has something different scheduled for Saturday morning. Seniors are doing mock interviews with some of the admissions faculty, and having our collage essays edited by one of the English teachers.
Last night we had the first performance in our Gould Academy concert series. It was a family group that played lots of Celtic music. Two of the brothers in the group played bagpipes, and they were very enthusiastic about it. I have never heard so many bagpipes in one evening before! It was certainly a new experience. There was one other brother who was slightly less talented, though he added a lot with his rapping skills and assorted magic tricks. At one point in the concert he did card tricks for us! It was quite the show.
Saturday, after our specific academic commitments, the girls have a soccer game at Hebron. Sunday I am looking forward to a caving trip with Mr. Lynch, and Mr. White. We are waking up really early Sunday morning and will be back late that night. It think we are going somewhere in New York. There is a group of about 6 students going, although anyone was invited to join.
If you’d like to hear more about any of these things, post your comments!
Have a great weekend!
