Planning, Pondering, and staying up late!(Don’t forget really happy trails!)

April 2, 2012

Hi everyone!

So I was just reminded about this glog post, which I’ve been thinking about all day until about 3 hours ago. I just about missed it due to homework. Sorry!

Today was an EPIC end to my ski season. The coaches set up a slalom course, there was a dual GS set up (I got to race my little sister Lily!), and there was a demo day on a BEAUTIFUL day at the mountain. For those of you who don’t know what a demo day is, it’s a day where the reps (think dealers: They sell us the skis so we can have fun!) bring up a ton of skis, in all sizes, and let us shred around on ’em to check out next years skis. It’s really important to know that your equipment feels right when you spend a lot of money on those guys. I was really surprised by how well I could flex a 130 flex boot (really stiff) and toss around next year’s Blizzards in a slalom course. Found my setup already. Anyways, I got to smile a lot, laugh(Two of my favorite things), and just generally enjoy a great last day on the hill. See you next year Sunday River, Thanks for another great season!

This past week, I started buying gear for my Senior Four Point. I spent a little more than I wanted to, but I’m really happy with the stuff I ordered. Can’t wait for it to get here! As my Senior Four Point gets closer, I’m generally getting more excited. For those of you who don’t know, I, along with my Mom, will be hiking all 46 Adirondack High Peaks this summer, through 3-5 day backpacking ventures, and will send in my summit dates to be registered as a 46er.(http://www.adk46r.org/) I am planning on blogging, and will post a link when I have it all set up. I’ve been digging through my guidebook to find the best route for the first 5 days so I can “Bag” as many as possible. Really looking forward to getting hiking, and trying out my gear!

Looking forward to another week of school, and hopefully getting some hikes in soon!

Blue Skies and Happy Trails Ahead!
