Nordic News from Mia a.k.a NNM
For those of you who don’t know me my name is Mia, and I am a 8th grader in Winter Term. I will be blogging once a week this winter about what is going on in the Gould Nordic world. I feel that I should use my first post to share what has been going on in our world over break because we have been training, racing, and doing the snow dance.
For some of us, our winter break started with a race at Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. This was a first for me, as it was my first high school race. Although our racing focus is not on results, the Gould girls did very well. For some of the more experienced racers, they started their break with the first Eastern Cup Race at Middlebury, in Vermont.
The Bethel Outing Club has been hosting practices all through break, I have attended a few of these practices and there have been a variety of skiers ranging from 6th graders to 11th graders.
The next racing opportunity for Gould would have been the Black Mountain Sprints last Tuesday, but they were cancelled. So there was a time trial at Pine Hill that was set up the same way as the Sprints. This time trial was very cold, but fun. We needed the snow dance!
We ended our break with the Telstar Relays on Saturday at Pine Hill. To see pictures, results, and for anything else you would like to know about the race go to: http://www.mainehighschoolskiing.com/
