Nice to meet you!
Hello! I’m Brooke, one of the newest Gloggers for the 2015/16 year! As a newbie to the glog-world, I’m going to tell you a little about myself and some of the things that I do here at Gould.
I am an athlete all year round. In the fall, I play soccer with the wonderful ladies on the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. I am lucky enough to be one of the captains for that team this year, with my partner in crime, Ali Parker. In the winter, I alpine ski race with GACP, and am going to be a second-year U18 this winter. I look forward to going fast, freezing my bum off 7 days of the week, and drinking hot cocoa in the North Peak Lodge with some of my closest ski-racing friends. In the spring, I play lacrosse. I picked up lacrosse my freshman year at Gould, (I am now a senior) and have loved it for all 4 years.
I am the day student Head Proctor. This is a picture from one of Gould’s most famous traditions, Winter Carnival. The day student color is red. Each constituency dresses in their individual color and competes in various competitions in the snow. Each group has their own “grand entrance”, and day students like to show their independence of being able to drive cars, so they always ride in to the carnival in the back of pick-up trucks. Being a day student involves sharing a locker room, coordinating rides home, and collectively complaining about having to pack our entire lives into bags to bring to school each day. (Some days we change into 5 different outfits!) We love it though.
I am an older sister. I have 2 younger brothers, and a younger sister. Our family has a dog and a kitten. My mom works in the Admission’s Office at Gould (purple jacket), the older of the two brothers is a freshman at Gould (neon jacket), the younger of the two brothers is in 5th grade (all black), and my sister is in Kindergarten (orange pants). We love to ski, hike, watch movies and eat popcorn together. As a family, our favorite dinner choice is Shepherd’s Pie. (The little kids love to squirt ketchup allllll over it.)
As well as these things, I am a writing center tutor, a mentor, and a singer. I’ve really got all the bases covered! Thanks for reading all about me, see you next week!
Until next time,
