I think all anyone really needs in life is a good adventure. Life it’s self is one big adventure from deciding what sports to play as a little kid to the career you are going to pursue. This weekend I was given the opportunity to join seven other people on the trek up Pinkham Notch at Mt. Washington. Attaching skins to the bottoms of skis or creating carrying devices out of backpacks we hiked the two miles up to the base of Tuckerman’s and the commonly referred to “bowl”. This is a trip I have done many times at different points during the year at many different ages. Going from my first time at age five and my strap on snake skis to last summer with skinny skis attached to my pack. As you go up through the peacefulness of the woods looking into the mountains you begin to realize not just how small you are, but how much this world has to offer you. How ski passes and chair lifts are not the only way to the top of the mountain and no matter your ability confidence will carry you over the toughest terrain. Don’t put off trying something new out of fear of failure, you are more powerful than you think. As some of my best runs have been those, that I have taken after three miles of hiking up.
Hopefully I have convinced you all to join us on our next trip to ski Mt.Washington. As for now keep exploring and sorry Andrew for stealing your day, I was adventuring in the land of too much homework.
