For this post I am going to share the last press release for the JVB soccer team, who played their last game of the season against Hebron.
“At the teams last game of the season, the boys were excited and ready to play. Training had been going really well and the boys were confident.
Hebron started off strong with their fast strikers getting behind and scoring a quick goal. This lit a fire under the Gould boys and the shots on goal were so, so close. Emile Webber hit the cross bar with a text book header from a textbook corner from Dragon. And Gould dominated the game. Emile finally got the assist to the first GA goal, a delicate cross to Justin Stearns, who powered it into the net. 1-1 at halftime.
The Gould boys went into the second half with a lot of confidence. Peppering the goal with shots, but nothing going in. Hebron scored late with a deflected free-kick. Final 2-1 Hebron. Although the JVB boys lost, they were all very happy with their effort, knowing that they should have won the game. A fun season, with many skills learned. Many thanks to Coach Whittington for his help. ”
As the coach of these boys, I feel honored to work with a hard working bunch of young men, and have had fun.
Until next week
