Junior Four Point Advice

February 27, 2015

Before I talk about four point, I just want to say WE DID IT!!! We reached out school spirit challenge goal of raising 100,000 pounds of food!!

Also, shoutout to Ryan Clermont, Zach Bouchard, Maddie Simard, and Willie Kannegieser, who are just about to do their first run at Nationals today!

Now for four point. Just to be clear, I haven’t gone on Junior four point…yet. I went around asking seniors what their advice for junior four point, like stuff to bring, things to keep in mind etc. Every senior had one or two things to say, but the most common piece of advice was that this trip could either be the best or worst nine days of your life, but it all depends on your attitude. Here’s the rest of what seniors had to say:

Bring 2 water bottles……..Bring booties, so you don’t have to wear frozen boots around the camps……..Put a lot of spices in your food……Don’t bring waterproof pants, if you do, don’t wear them next to the fire….Be as positive as possible…..Open mind, it all depends on your attitude….Clean your utensils…..Drink water…….Tell stories/jokes…..Don’t rush things….Don’t do too much extra work….Learn to use your sleeping bag or you’re going to be freezing……Follow what the teachers say…..Eat a lot….Girls- braid/ lock your hair……Try not to fight with group members!…..Don’t do anything unnecessary/ save energy…..Sing around the campfire…..Make friends……….Don’t complain……..Don’t bring any unnecessary stuff…….Bring an extra stuff sack, they’re useful……Do push ups when you get cold…..Make friends…….Think about life –(deep!)……No excuses……..Bring sunscreen……..Don’t let your clothes get wet…..Be grateful…..Have fun……Plan everything, be organized

Here’s a picture of Zach Bouchard and Hunter Cline on last years’ four point:
