Jessica’s Visit

October 8, 2008

Hello! I hope you all have had a great week since last Wednesday.

This week my family hosted Jessica, a Chinese student from Chengdu, a city in the Sichuan province. There were seven Chinese students who came to visit as part of Gould’s exchange program. I hope that all of the visitors had a fantastic week. I know that I did as a host.

We had fun teaching Jessica about Maine culture. Fall is a wonderful time of year in Bethel. We carved pumpkins and went to the Fryeburg Fair. While hiking Table Rock and Tumble Down, our visitors were able to experience the autumn colors, and even see some snow! They also had the chance to travel to Portland to explore the city.

My family cooked up some great meals for Jessica. She had her first taste of wild Maine blueberry pancakes, hamburgers, and BBQ.

I wish all of our visitors a safe trip home.
See you next week!
