Its a Big One! Action Packed and Fun Filled

December 13, 2007

Wednesday night rolls around so fast, and so much has happened since last week. Snow, snow and more snow…… On the mountain Rug Rat coaches have under gone all their training and are ready to teach the Crescent Park Elementary School skiing and snowboarding starting in January. Every day the Patrol group is on the hill training. Dragging sleds and marking trails. The competitive teams are hard at work preparing for races and competitions.

Both basketball teams are 3-0, great start to the season…… Too many shinning stars to mention names, so every picture will tell a story.

Jeffrey Fortunato who plays basketball is in the forefront of another team …… Gould For Africa, they trying to raise $14000 to supply a community in Africa with a Play Pump water system. The current fundraising project is a Boston Night raffle. It consists of two third row Celtic’s seats v.s the Chicago Bulls on December 21st. The winner will also receive a two night Marriott stay in Boston for the 21st and 22nd of December. One ticket sells for $5 and 5 tickets for $20. Contact Jeffrey at to purchase tickets.
The winner will be announced at Yule fest.
‘Help Gould help others’

Davidson 1st floor has been a buzz since last week, all the first floor went to the Matterhorn for $5 Pizza on a Thursday evening, a rare event as its usually only offered on a Tuesday. That evening we all picked out names for the 1st Floor Annual Secret Santa event. For those who don’t know, you chose a name and buy a gift and have to put it under the tree with out the recipient knowing……. that’s the secret part. A week later we have turkey sandwiches and hand out the gifts. Every year the gifts provide lots of laughter and frivolity. So much so the boys want to have a Secret Bunny event at Easter….! Should be fun.

Forthcoming Events
Snowball on Saturday December 15th
Yulefest on Wednesday December 19th, followed by the Cookie walk.
Christmas December 25th.

Not sure what to buy for Christmas, check out the Gould blankets not only a great way to stay warm on the sidelines (team members & their loyal fans)They would also keep GA athletes (and others) warm on those winter bus rides. GA license plate holders, sideline chairs (complete with carrying case), and beach towels were brisk sellers as well. Support GA & the Sports Boosters with your order Contact Marily Kerney at or (207) 824-4024. All profits from the sales of these items will fund sports-related improvements at Gould.

A big shout out to Tracey Wilkerson’s mum as we know she loves to read the Glog

Until next week
