*HUH!* (that’s inhailed, with surprise)
It’s Monday night! Amazing. The students leave and I suddenly lose all sense of time. Monday feels like Sunday, then Tuesday feels like… well, Sunday. But, Monday is my night to share my GLOG thoughts.
Want to know what happens here when the kids leave? This year the women of Gehring (Ms Vaughn, Ms Austin, Ms Frailey, Mr. Hedden (true- not a woman), and I) threw a “farewell to fall” party. It featured a beautiful and generous pot-luck supper followed by socializing and, to my surprise, Karaoke! It was fun. I think students can expect a Karaoke night some upcoming weekend.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Our goal to have a meal of all local food has been relaxed and expanded a bit. My sister and her family are coming from Vermont. They’ll be bringing dairy products that are local to them. We also have some family recipes that are favorites. For Pete, Thanksgiving without his mom’s onion casserole isn’t Thanksgiving at all. I’m looking forward to spending time with our families.
Hope you all enjoy the company, the vacation time, and the meal. Remember- give thanks to the bird who made it all possible for your family.
Until next week, Gloggers.
