Gould: The Winter Term Strikes Back!
OVERHEARD IN SPANISH CLASS: “I’m pretty sure that the ear bud got squeezed into my inner ear due to the increase in pressure from the top to the bottom of Sunday River.”
Here we go, Gouldies and Gloggies! It’s Tuesday, and it’s December, and that means snow!!
Except that there isn’t any snow.
But that really doesn’t matter here at The Academy, where our slogan is “We’ll get on snow, whether there’s snow or not!” So this morning, bright and early, I got up and headed up to that magic place, that gathering place for Gouldies in the winter, that Happy Place!
I went to the dining hall.
And I took some pictures, just to let those of you who aren’t here (or weren’t at assembly, Tarin) see what winter term looks like around campus. Hint: If you are a seasoned, career ski and snowboard thief, THIS is your happy place:
And that wasn’t all. It seems that there was “stuff” (and by “stuff”, I mean “a HUUUUGE quantity of top-of-the-line ski and ride gear”) everywhere. Like here:
So off we go, to Sunday River! Skiers, boarders, Winter Term-ers, Rug Rats-ers, all kinds of -ers! Some were in GS suits, and some were in the proud red-and-black of the Sunday River Ski Patrol:
So, as I said, HERE WE GO! The vans are racing their engines, bags, boots and helmets are everywhere, there’s an electric excitement in the air. All we need now is SNOW!!!
And a beautiful sunrise photo:
