Gould Academy has hired Andrew Leach as the new dean of athletics and co-curricular programs and the boys varsity lacrosse head coach and program director.

“We are very excited to welcome Andrew to Gould,” said Head of School Matt Ruby. “In his role, Andrew will bring great experience and passion to our athletics and co-curricular programs.”

For the last two years, Leach has served as the assistant athletic director and assistant lacrosse coach at Bridgton Academy. While there he worked to recruit student-athletes into the school’s lacrosse program, and collaborated with the college counseling office to place student-athletes in appropriate collegiate programs around the United States. Prior to Bridgton Academy, Leach was assistant lacrosse coach at the University of New England and athletic director at Islesboro Central High School.

“I believe in developing the complete student-athlete and strive for success both on and off the field,” said Leach. “I look forward to continuing great traditions and accomplishments in boys lacrosse and across all the great athletic and co-curricular activities Gould offers.”

Leach is a graduate of the University of New England, where he received his B.S. in sports management.
