From World Cup to Revolution

March 11, 2009

No there isn’t a Revolution….! Well that’s if you don’t count Snowboarding….!!!
The Revolution I’m talking about is The USSA Revolution Tour, a series of snowboarding events around the country, that has a selected group of Gould Academy Competition Program (GACP) riders to compete in.
This week we were a little closer to home at Sugarloaf for a Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Boardercross.

It really dawned on me, in a practical way, how diverse our student body at Gould is. The evening before the event, the organizers came to me and said “you need permission from the Irish Ski Association for Oran to compete….!” Now, before you all shout out. “You didn’t know one of you riders was Irish….!”

Yes of course I did.

But what I’m trying to say is. At Gould, your aGouldie and you really don’t see anything else.Robbie Moulton ’09

So, I made some calls and Oran ’11 got into his first Revolution event with a handful of other first timers Kevin Keough ’10 and Kyle Dorfman ’11. Conor McCarthy ’10 and Robbie Moulton ’09 also competed with Robbie obtaining his best result of the Tour – 22nd in Slopestyle.
All results can be found at www.live-timing.com

With the season coming to an end and spring nearly upon us, I will change gears soon and report more on the dorm. But until then. Let it snow……!

All the best
