FIS Rookies

March 7, 2014

So the first FIS event is in the bag for Gould Academy sophomores Ward Saunders ’16, Mitch Romanowski ’16, Shannon Maguire ’16 and Emma Scheidegger ’16.

Two Nor-Am events at Sugarloaf Mountain part of the USSA Holeshot Tour. These FIS rookies really stepped up and represented Gould Academy fantastically. The format at Snowboard FIS races is a two run time trial, best run counts, to try and get to the heats/finals. At these two particular events the ladies took the top 16 to the finals and the top 32 for the men.

After running the course for two practice days, Thursday and Friday were race days. Both individual races.

The results were as follows

Ward Saunders 40th and 33rd

Mitch Romanowski 49th and 48th

Shannon Maguire 25th and 18th

Emma Scheidegger 29th and 24th.

Well done team, well done.

Oh, and we also bumped into a couple of Alums. Cole and PJ.
