Civil War Comes Alive in Film Talk for 11th graders

Bowdoin History professor Patrick Rael spoke to Gould US History students on Thursday Feb 12 as part of the ongoing “Local and Legendary: Bethel during the Civil War” program. Prof. Rael showed clips of a variety of Civil War films and engaged students and community members in discussion of the ways that the Civil War has been portrayed in films. Students reported that they found the talk quite engaging and interesting.
