Arrived in Kunming!

March 19, 2015

We arrived safely and on time to Kunming after an uneventful flight. Kids wrote in their journals and slept on the 3 1/2 hour flight from Beijing. The school we are visiting, the Kunming Foreign Language School, was renovated just two years ago.

We received a warm welcome from the school, which included a banquet dinner full of regional foods. Everything was delicious! As Olivia said at one point, “You can tell the food is really good when everyone’s quiet while eating.” Don’t worry, that’s cranberry juice in the glasses!

After dinner students met their host siblings and parents. We had time for a quick photo of everyone with their host families.

We arrived right in time for a school field trip to Dragon Valley. At first we thought it was going to be like Mountain Day, then more like going to a park or a museum. We’ll be sure to tell you all about it tomorrow!
