April and still snowboarding!!!
I am sitting in Boston after returning from a trip to New Mexico; the blossoms are out on the trees and it’s low 60’s outside. Talking to friends in Bethel, it reached the high 90’s on the weekend, where as Chris and the snowboard team are out in Copper, Colorado competing in the USASA Nationals and the temps have not got above freezing all week and they have had a foot of snow. Despite the cold temps the teams are having great success. The GACP weekend program kids are out there as well and have so far racked up 2 silver medals and lots of top ten slots. The Gould snowboard team results from yesterday: Chris Lee came in 10th in slopestyle, with Shea McCarthy coming in 11th and his brother Conor McCarthy coming in 18th in Bordercross.
Finally the sun is shining , taken from the lift at 8.45am this morning
Today is Lauren Tamposi’s turn to shine in the slopestyle event; she just got the news that she has been chosen to represent the USA in New Zealand this summer in the FIS Junior World Championships. Good Luck to all the athletes competing and if you want to keep up to date, Chris is posting all the results daily on the GACP facebook page. Become a fan and get all your up to date results and find out what all the winter programs are up to through out the summer.
Roll on spring!
