And the week calms down
It has been a very exciting week here at the Academy. You’ve all read about all the exciting events that have happened over the last few days but it may be hard for you to really understand how close we come as a community in just a few short days. The lights tend to go out later, the girls tend to be gigglier and everyone gets excited over the little things. This is a great week to be a Husky.
Yesterday, was twin day. Which I used as my personal excuse for wearing sweatpants to school all day (a rare occurance) and almost everyone participated in some way. I know of a lot of student-faculty pairs that teemed up to be twins. Steph Casella with Ms. Austin and Emily MacMillan with Mr. Hedden are just a few of the ones that come to mind. After classes yesterday I went up to the mountain to ski on almost two feet of freshly sprinkled snow with five fifth graders from the local elementary school. They were all very excited to get after as many trails as we possibly could in our few hours out there.
After that, there were snacks and a toboggan sledding race to wrap up winter carnival week. I think we are all looking forward to some final results to see which dorm or day students gets bragging rights for the rest of the year.
Here are a few pictures from this week taken by Whitney Matias and Alli Flynn.
