Alpine season off to strong start

Ethan Bouchard ’23 took the top step for U16 Boys


The U16s and U19s just hosted their first race of the season at Sunday River on Monday. Surface conditions for the opening Turkey Chase were solid and maintained very well throughout the day. There were approximately 50 women and 40 men in the race. Programs that attended included GACP, CVA, and Bates College.

  • Gould PG alumna Avery Leonard took the overall win on the women’s side.
  • Phoebe Garfield was 5th overall, winning the U19 age group.
  • Emma Quang took 6th overall, winning the U16 age group.
  • Kayl Hosmer took 7th overall, coming in 2nd place for the U19 age group

Overall, it was a very good showing for our GACP women to kick off our first race of the season!
Our U19 men swept the age group podium as well
  • Sam Sherwood took the top place for the U19 age group, coming in 7th overall
  • Gaven Schain 2nd U19 (10th overall)
  • Jesse Mize took 3rd U19 (11th overall)
Ethan Bouchard was our first husky coming in 5th place overall (1st place for U16).
Our next race is on Monday, January 18, at Sunday River.
