Adventures on Nordic Skis
Hi! I am glad you have stopped by to read my Glog.
My name is Alice Hotopp. I am a sophomore from Bethel.
Excitment for winter is starting to build. Today at lunch we had our first official nordic ski team meeting. We talked about going to Quebec over the Thanksgiving break to get in some early season skiing.
Last year’s trip was very succesful- full of great skiing, perfect snow, and fun!

In the meantime, we keep our technique and fitness fresh by rollerskiing (rollerskis have wheels so we can practice when there’s no snow).
Today was a great day to hit the pavement. We drove out to a pristine section of newly paved road and skate skied for about an hour and forty minutes. Afterwards we cooled off with a swim in North Pond.
Here are some photos from today’s ski. Richard Taylor, former coach of the nordic team joined us. Mr. Kamilewicz goes over the plan for the workout with Andrew Nesbitt before we set out. Below, Jeb Clarke gets his skis out of the van.
Today Mr. Taylor said about rollerskiing, “Fear is fun. You came out here for adventure, didn’t you?”
