A Thousand Words
A thousand words.
If a photo is worth a thousand words, how many words does it take to adequately capture the sheer volume of photos collected in Gould Academy yearbooks over a 180-year lifespan?
The simple answer is, it can’t be done.
In flipping through hundreds of pages of yearbooks (and in some cases, Gould Herald’s) in search of photos to use in our second annual #GratefulGould on #GivingTuesday campaign–which you’ll see more of on display on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in the coming week–the simple fact is, these pictures are worth more than a thousand words. Each one is a memory that will last a lifetime, but each smiling face only tells part of a much deeper story.
#GivingTuesday, a worldwide day of charitable giving in response to days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, takes place on Tuesday, December 1, 2016. This will be Gould Academy’s second year participating; last year Gould surpassed its goal of 50 gifts in 24 hours with just over 60 donations. It was and still remains, a record for the most donations collected by Gould in a single day.
This year we’re hoping for 100 donations to be made within 24 hours on #GivingTuesday: Tuesday, December 1. Whether you choose to make it your annual gift, a gift just because, or a gift to help us meet our goal, what this gift really does is help future students and faculty create memories of a lifetime–memories that one day will be captured in the pages of a Gould yearbook.
Show your gratitude for Gould Academy on Tuesday, December 1 by posting your own memories using #GratefulGould on #GivingTuesday on our Facebook Page or by tagging us on Twitter and Instagram (@gouldacademy)–maybe we will repost! And help us reach our goal of 100 donations by giving within the 24 hours that is #GivingTuesday.
Relationships matter. Memories matter. Your gift matters.
The Gould Fund creates memories for students to grow, thrive, and risk. It’s your gifts that help make memories like these possible by funding scholarships, teacher development, and student programming. Please give on #GratefulGould on #GivingTuesday.
