A Perfect Routine
Saturday is my favorite day of the week.
My Typical Saturday:
- 6:30 AM – Alarm goes off
- 6:55 AM – Small Breakfast
- 7:15 AM – Drive to Sunday River
- 8:00-11:00 AM – Ski Training
- 11:30 AM – Brunch
- 12:30-5:45 PM – Loads of free time
- 5:45 PM – Dinner
- 6:30-12:00 AM – NO HOMEWORK
- (This Week’s Exception: A sleep-in on Sunday morning!)
After a busy week of school, it feels good to know that I have mastered the perfect Saturday. Waking up early isn’t always so fun, but getting to ski in the early morning while the snow is good, and then heading to brunch to have firsts, seconds, and sometimes thirds, makes up the beginning of this wonderful day. The time after brunch usually consists of some family time, some Netflix watching, and OCCASIONALLY, some homework. Leisure is the name of the game though, and I try to fully live up to those standards every Saturday.
I feel that sometimes we get caught up in our daily schedules and get into the groove of our everyday lives, leading us to forget to enjoy the little things, such as a good morning or afternoon doing something that you love. I can confess that I am 100% guilty of this, and have been guilty for too long. When my coach emailed me tonight telling me that we get to sleep-in on Sunday instead of training, I recognized how nice my weekends truly are. I then began to think about how lucky I, and those around me, are for the weekend opportunities that we are given. Gould always supplies us with trips to do activities from shopping, to tutoring, to go-carting, and everywhere in between. Mystery trips have become increasingly popular, and everyone loves a good jaunt to Marden’s. (These are just a few of the featured trips this weekend)
All in all, I hope you can try to make the best of your days off, and get outside! Try to spend time doing the things you love with the people you care about. And I encourage you to think, what’s your favorite day of the week?
