It’s Friday! Well, it’s a “fake friday”. Don’t the administrators know that Saturday classes destroy the integrity of Fridays? 😉

Next week will start a little early too – on Sunday night we’ll watch movies that are based on the themes of Martin Luther King Day . On Monday we’ll hear from a guest speaker and then learn from each other at different student-run workshops and discussions. MLK Day is always an interesting opportunity for us to gather as a community to share ideas, beliefs, and hopes.

This week has been busy as well. Last night a bunch of students went down to the field house and watched Gould Basketball win a great game against Sacopee High School. The GA Community Service group also held a bakesale at the game.

Last Saturday the GA Nordic ski team raced in the Telstar Relays. The trails were swarming with skiers – 500 of them! The trails were fast, the sun was bright, and there was a definite sense of excitement. Everyone from Gould did great, and it was the first race for a couple of our skiers. Our top guy’s team won by minutes and the women’s team raced hard for second place.

Molly Siegel skiied a fantastic “leg” for the Women’s team, passing several competitors with the third fastest Women’s time of the day

Men’s winning Nordic team at the Telstar Relays – Jeb Clarke, Peter Cowan, and Andrew Nesbitt
