The days are winding down towards Thanksgiving break and the snow is already falling. You know what this means? Nordic ski camp in Quebec! This will be the third year of our tromping around Quebec, babbling random french words while seeking ski-worthy snow. Hopefully, (if we’re blessed by the snow gods) the Foret Montmorency ski trails will be deep with powder and groomed to perfection, just waiting for skiers like us to fly aroud them and crank out some miles. If not, we’ll rollerski and try to find some backroads with enough snow to fool around on. Either way, the Thanksgiving trip always ends with a bunch of happy and dead tired skiers. I can’t wait to get out there!
Meanwhile, we satisfy our hankering for skiing with rollerskiing – the version of skiing where you go really fast over really hard pavement. It adds a little adrenaline to the day and is a great way to train all year round. Tomorow we’ll end a high intensity training week with a rollerski time trial up Jordan Bowl Rd on Sunday River. Wanna come?
Here’s a couple of videos that I took this week rollerskiing. I had the camera strapped to my ankle, so…
