Halloween is just around the corner! I don’t know about you, but every year I have several GREAT ideas for Halloween costumes, but somehow October 31st just comes too fast. Now I have a child to play with though, so all is different. Reiley already has 3 good options for Halloween. We just may change clothes 3 times throughout the day! If you’re on campus and you’re looking for an idea for a costume, let me know.
Gould is a great place to be for Halloween. There’s no lack of enthusiasm. We’re already greeted by about a dozen carved pumpkins each time we step into the dining hall, and I’m certain the students are making plans for elaborate and creative costumes. Thursday night in the dorm will be an exciting place to be- second only to Friday morning. I’m sure pictures will be posted.
Speaking of photos, my camera and I have been on the outs so please excuse the lack of pictures in this glog entry. Some highlights from the past week include:
Wednesday night snacks were hosted by Gehring dorm. Mini-tacos and nachos were eaten by all and a rousing school-wide game of LIMBO brought cheers and jeers.
On Friday afternoon the Outing Club and the Farm and Forest crew moved saplings from the cross country trails to the lower pasture, in preparation for Winter Carnival bonfire, which usually happens in February. Yes, February is far away, but the first snowfall isn’t very far. Once the snow comes it’s more difficult to find and move wood for the fire. The bonfire will be near the spot where early-risers saw a moose walking behind Ordway on Friday morning.
The Bethel Outing Club held its annual ski sale in the field house. The place transforms to a gear-junkie’s dreamland. It’s filled with Nordic and alpine gear, snowboards, jackets, hats, gloves, boots, etc.
There’s never a dull moment here at Gould. All you have to do is look around, and there’s something going on. How about that caving trip Maggy wrote about last week!? Never dull!
Until next week,
