Josh McCarthey '15 & his advisor Doug Alford P'18

Josh McCarthy '15 was elated to learn that he had been accepted to Gould Academy. An accomplished vocalist, Josh already knew that he’d love Gould’s location, working with the Manhattan School of Music, and being able to take advantage of the Ski Patrol Program. By the first day of school, Josh had already spent hours poring over Gould’s brochures and website. What Josh didn’t expect however, was the bond that he would make with his advisor, faculty member Doug Alford P’18 – a fellow vocalist, musician, and ski patroller. It was a welcomed surprise that shaped Josh’s Gould experience and set the foundation for a relationship that will continue to grow for years to come.
