Want to skate at school?

Gould Academy has the longest running, comprehensive skateboarding program of any boarding school – 15 years and going strong.

We have a varsity skateboard team, a series of spring skateboard competitions, a 3,500 square foot indoor skate park, a 9,000 square foot outdoor concrete skate park, a spring educational program for seventh to ninth graders from other schools, and a week-long skate park tour of Southern California.

Skateboarding is a sport, but it can also be a life-long pursuit. At Gould Academy we embrace all aspects of skateboarding and all mindsets. Students can ride in their spare time or on our team. We provide a complete program for intermediate and advance riders.

At Gould we embrace the mind-body connection which defines the relationship between athletics and academics. Students often learn how to learn on their skateboard and can then apply that insight to their work in the classroom.

We ride with the students on the team. We focus on skill development and overall riding ability. There are opportunities to develop one’s riding ability as far as skill allows.
