Celebrating 175 years of the Gould community.

For over a decade the William Bingham Scholarship has given students from rural Maine the opportunity to attend Gould.

The scholarship was made possible by the Betterment Fund, a philanthropic organization created through the will of William Bingham II.

Gould Academy nominated the Betterment Fund for a Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) John. R. Chandler Award in recognition of “a corporation or foundation for outstanding contributions to independent schools.”

The Betterment Fund received the award. This book is a collection of letters of thanks from nine Bingham Scholars to the Betterment Fund.
